Tear Sucker

In the Amazon, when butterflies run low on salt and minerals, they gather around turtles' heads to sip their tears. It's called tear-feeding – or lachryphagy, if you're feeling sciency. Apparently, this salty snack is an essential supplement for the butterflies' nectar-based diet.
The turtles, according to researchers, don't seem to mind.
That last part feels deeply suspicious. So this artwork imagines one turtle who does mind – very much – his electrolyte freeloaders.
